Consumers of alcoholic beverages have a reason to smile after government, on Thursday, clarified that bars and hotels would revert to the 11pm limit of operation – a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the dusk to dawn curfew.
The government extended the operating hours for bars and restaurants, from next week, offering a major relief to operators and consumers who have been pushing the state to extend the operation time.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that pubs and eateries will be allowed to close at 11 pm, but must observe strict health guidelines such as social distancing and sanitising.
