Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, Thursday, called out private hospitals for ‘fleecing Kenyans’ seeking medical services in their facilities.
He decried the development in which private hospitals were making huge profits at the expense of poor and voiceless Kenyans.
He wondered why the hospitals detaining recovered patients and or bodies due to outstanding bills.
“I am asking private health institutions to regulate themselves before we step in and issue certain orders. We won’t allow Kenyans to be treated this way any further,” Kagwe said.
