The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has cleared suspended Energy CS Davis Chirchir of corruption allegations against him.
EACC recommended to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) that the file be closed for “lack of evidence”.
Chirchir had been accused alongside Kenya Power MD Dr Ben Chumo of allegedly embezzling Sh90 million transferred from Kenya Pipeline Company to Kenya Power.
Mr Chirchir is among % CS’es suspended to allow for investigations into corruption allegations against them. Others are Charity Ngilu (Lands), Felix Koskei (Agriculture), Kazungu Kambi (Labour) and Michael Kamau (Transport).
PS’es Mutea Iringo (Defence), Nduva Muli (Transport), Patrick Omutia (Mining) and James Teko (Water) remain suspended.
The NSSF board and its CEO Mr Richard Langat were cleared. Others are former Prime Minister’s chief of staff Caroli Omondi,as was former MD of National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation Evans Ngibuini simlarly for “lack of evidence”
